Basic Aims of the Association

The history of the SKAT union catalogue starts in 1995. Its creation was initiated by the company called LANius at the meeting of users in 1994. Creation of the basis of the future catalogue started during 1995. Dozens of other libraries - users of the LANius library system - began to contribute to this catalogue. At the beginning of 1996 there originated an idea of establishing the association as an owner of the union catalogue. The Association of LANius Library System Users originated in Olomouc, July 6, 1996. The Association was founded by 28 libraries which use the LANius library system and the LANius company.

The Association of LANius Library System Users is a special-interest association of juridical persons according the law 47/1992 Sb., in the wording of later regulations. The origin of the Association was initiated by the authors of the LANius library system and its users, endeavouring for the rational and full use of the data of the open-shelf stocks of the member libraries.
